Dewhurst Flowers acknowledges that it operates on the traditional lands and treaty territory of the Anishinabek, Wendake-Nionwentsïo, Haudenosaunee, Mississauga, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Peoples.
The land on which we farm is part of the Williams Treaties (1923), two of the last historic land cession treaties where nearly 13 million acres of land were transferred to the Crown for negligible one-time payments to the Mississauga and Chippewa Peoples. Additional lands were not provided and harvesting rights were denied.

As a non-Indigenous business, Dewhurst Flowers commits to treating this land, its people, and its resources with respect.
Further, we are committed to continual learning as it relates to truth and reconciliation, to taking action through fundraising in support of Indigenous-led organizations, and by recognizing and seeking to dismantle the ongoing impacts of colonization while respecting the rights and self-determination of Indigenous peoples as governing nations unto themselves.
