We specialize in growing chemical-free Sunflowers and Strawflower. Two amazing flowers with so much to offer! We're focused on being a convenient & reliable source of these flowers for you throughout the Greater Toronto Area. We're also happy to offer our dried Strawflower products for Canada-wide shipping come September 2024.
As a business sustainability and making the most out of the flowers drive our actions. Our goal will always be to give more than we take. Reducing waste, using recyclable materials, and procuring reusable options for packaging will also be a consistent practice.
We grow all of your flowers naturally, without the use of pesticides or chemicals. It's important to support the health of our shared resources. Protecting water, soil and pollinators isn't optional to us.
We aim to be a contributing member of the Stouffville community by providing a free seed library, by supporting Indigenous-owned businesses & organizations - and in future years fulfilling an ultimate goal of creating a fully accessible community garden space for those living with life limiting illness.
Thank you so much for joining us here, and please feel free to follow along on Instagram or to visit our Shop page as both the flowers and Dewhurst continue to grow throughout 2024. As a new grower I have lots to learn and will be updating the Journal page with discoveries and information that can be helpful along the way.
We can't wait to bring you flowers this year, thank for your support!

"The flower trade is a miracle of modern capitalism. A chain of cold storage starts with stems being picked in places as far-flung as Africa, the Middle East, and South America, then packed into refrigerated trucks, driven to refrigerated planes, and flown to Amsterdam to be auctioned off. They’re then repacked into more cold trucks and planes and delivered to supermarkets, florists, and bridal bouquets across Asia, Europe, and the U.S." (Bloomberg Business Week, April, 2020).
Traditional cut flowers often make a monumental journey around the globe before they land in our communities. As everyday consumers in North America, we don't generally get to see how our flowers arrive at our homes, and are often not privy to what chemicals are used in their production.
Knowing your local flower farmer and consciously choosing the source of your cut flowers can help to:

When we think of locally grown food the term 'farm to table' easily comes to mind. Locally grown flowers that go from 'farm to vase' are part of the just as amazing Slow Flowers Movement. Slow Flower businesses support customers in making informed floral purchases and are helping the earth by employing sustainable & green growing practices. Purchasing flowers from a Slow Flowers farmer is a direct way to get involved in supporting a conscious community beyond just the blooms that you buy. There are many Canadian Slow Flower Businesses who would love your support!
